Teresian House

Lighting Retrofit Plan

Susan Dee Associates prepared a lighting plan to address the facility's aesthetic, budgetary, and efficiency needs.

Teresian House has been enterprising in upgrading lighting fixtures where possible. Some fixtures with T-12 U tubes have been replaced with Biax style compact fluorescents. Occupancy sensors have been installed in certain spaces, such as laundry rooms in the Tower, to turn lights off automatically. Incandescent lamps have been replaced with energy efficient lamps.

There were still a number of modifications that could be made to further improve the lighting efficiency of the facility. These changes must be balanced against other criteria critical to the mission of the Nursing Home. One such factor is a commitment to maintain a residential appearance, avoiding features that invoke a commercial or institutional feel.
