Susan Deesusan

Susan Dee has trained as an architect and has been conducting energy analyses since 1981. While at the New York State Energy Office (NYSEO), she worked with a number of programs focusing on residential properties and has continued to focus on this sector to the present.

In her nearly 9 years with NYSEO, Ms. Dee was instrumental in establishing technical and review parameters for the Low Income Public and Publicly Assisted Housing program (HEAP), the UDC-Demonstration Grant Program and the Energy Conservation Bank (ECB). She worked with supporting consultants, such as Cornell University in the development and refinement of the SBEEP program, with retired engineers participating in the EASI program and with consultants involved in the housing programs to understand supporting documentation and resolve discrepancies and differences of opinion.

Ms. Dee has conducted detailed energy audits on no fewer than 100 multifamily buildings and more than 50 government and institutional buildings, identifying mechanical, heating, electrical and architectural modifications. For the Institutional Conservation Program (ICP), the Energy Advisory Service to Industry (EASI) program and the Small Business Energy Efficiency Program (SBEEP), Ms. Dee reviewed over 700 complex engineering studies for institutional, industrial, and multifamily properties.
